While attending David Sedaris's concert in Boston Symphony Hall, keen fans of his readings and wit were slightly disappointed by the repetitive material from his previous shows in Bethesda and Baltimore. Despite the familiarity of some of the material, Sedaris delivered his signature dry, irreverent humor with eloquence and hilarity. However, the brevity of the talk, clocking in at only about 45 minutes and further shortened by the promotion of another author's book, left some audience members craving more. Perhaps the exhaustive nature of his 35-city tour played a role in his apparent fatigue. Overall, while the performance met expectations in terms of humor and wit, attendees were left hoping for a bit more originality and engagement from the talented storyteller.
